Aircon systems are complicated and their components are sensitive, so any servicing or replacement work should only be carried out by a suitably trained and qualified air-con technician.

Aircon components are not intended to be serviced by or replaced by DIY or ‘amateur’ mechanics!

Aircon technicians will have access to specialist tools and equipment required to extract and replace refrigerant gases, and to ‘flush’ and clean out the system. They should also have a selection of suitable o-rings, seals, connectors and other consumables at hand which will need to be replaced.

Before undertaking any work and dismantling the system, they will also know to check that the part being replaced will be a suitable replacement.
